One of the most popular things to do in Corolla, NC, is beach driving. With Corolla's wide, open beaches, it's a little less scary to drive here for the novice. Still, you need to do some homework before you set out on the sand and only do so if you have a 4WD. Most recommend lowering the psi in your tires and that you follow the ruts that are already there. And, most important of all, stay at least 50 feet away from the wild horses you'll probably see while in this area. You can – and probably will ... and should – be ticketed if you endanger these creatures by being too close to them.
