In 1990 Michael’s Gems and Glass was established as the first retail outlet of rocks and minerals on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Everyone was skeptical about how rocks would sell at the beach, but almost 25 years and multiple stores later, Michael’s is often a favorite destination for many visitors who vacation every year in Corolla. Michael’s goods are about as natural as you can get. Earth-made, sometimes man-enhanced rocks, seashells, fossils and mineral items make truly unique gifts.
