We came across this place while visiting OBX for winter break, and I'm glad we did! It's a small, family-owned restaurant and the food is delicious! I had the ribs which were cooked to perfection! They were juicy and fall off the bone tender. For sides I had fries and baked beans. The fires were nice and crispy and the baked beans..... OMG, so flavorful and hearty! They had pieces of back in them and were so good! The beans could have been a meal themselves! We also tried the BBQ sandwich and wings. All were good. The service was excellent! They were very attentive and helpful when it came to ordering. I will definitely make this my go to spot when visiting!.

The food was absolutely AMAZING! Would definitely recommend you check it out if you're in the area. Ribs were delicious, chicken was very moist, and a TON of food! Loved it.

This little hidden gem .. and I mean hidden did not disappoint. It sits off the main road across from large beach houses so best time to go is during the day when you can see it better. It is lit up kinda bright so that may help. This little spot gave us a taste of southern barbecue that was quite delicious. We had the NC shredded pork and spare ribs. The ribs were smoked with a light sauce and were quite tender and tasty. I had a side of coleslaw and baked beans which were pretty good. We also had the brisket which was absolutely amazing and a fried pork chop platter. The pork chops were a little tough though but the green beans and potato salad were impressive and I don't eat every ones potato salad. And then the sweet hush puppies were crazy delicious. I would definitely visit this place again.

Mmmm Had the brisket. Best brisket I have ever had !! Green beans were very good and this from someone who doesn't like vegetables. Potato salad was also good ! Service was great and very attentive!

Seriously awesome BBQ. Had the "Huge" brisket sandwich and it's the best I've had in many years anywhere. Super tender and massively flavorful. Potato salad is home made and very tasty. Fast and friendly service, good home made sweet treat and cornbread too. Will surely return. Had passed this by before but am glad I stopped. A new regular in the making.

The Best thing I did on this vacation was - “Sooey’s”, as I was driving in I Ordered the - Big Bad Wolf ! It is day #5 and our Party of 8 adults have and are still enjoying it immensely! For choices we suggest the 5lbs of Pork BBQ and Rib Sauce - baked beans (1) Coke Slaw (1) green beans (1) and Mac and Cheese (2) and a side of Rolls! The Fried Chicken, Ribs and Hush Puppies completed the Feast!

Fantastic. .. the three if us went in last week around noon.. bbq was just right..not over cooked..not under cooked..perfect..not greasy..spices were spot in to enhance..not over power! I also noticed there was no gristle or fat... cheap fillers and too much work for most places..as someone who isn't a huge fan of fried food..the hushpuppies and fries were absolutely perfect..not overdone,grease laden.. spot on...I NEVER give false accolades..ESPECIALLY with food.. will now be our first stop from now on when we got to the OBX!
